Walgreens
At Walgreens, I supported community management and content creation for Walgreens and Drugstore.com. A few highlights of my time there are the Father’s Day campaign I was lucky to be able to concept, and our Pinterest rebrand.
With Father’s Day, we knew we weren’t going to be the first stop for Father’s Day gifts. But we could be the first stop people thought of when they wanted to round out that perfect gift for Dad. Together with our copywriter & graphic designer, I created our Dad-on campaign. This campaign did two things:
- Highlighted brand objectives spotlighting the convenience of Walgreens while promoting products geared towards “Father’s Day fun.”
- Copy includes “dad jokes,” allowing us to join the conversation around online memes that poked fun of cheesy jokes told by fathers (remember when that was cool in 2013?). This incorporated a current trend while still being on brand and relevant to the campaign.
When most organic posts were seeing around 500 Likes max, our Father’s Day campaign garnered a total of 10K Likes & 40K impressions (organic) in just 3 days.
I was also involved in rebranding our Pinterest page from a page that housed other people’s pins, to a content hub of our own. This involved establishing content themes, content-creation process & posting schedule. A few of themes revolved around beauty at Walgreens, and new uses for every day items we sold.
